MOS:11C40 Indirect Fire Infantryman.
Robert was issued oders for Vietnam arriving
there 23 August 1966,where he was assigned
to D Company,1st Battalion,7th Calvary,1st
Calvary Division,USARV.D Company was at
LZ X-Ray,5 kilometers east of Chu Prong
Mountain,Hill 732 when the company engaged
a large group of hostile forces.Robert died as
a result of hostile gun wounds to the head and
back.
Sgt Gomez served his country for 4 years.
Survived by his wife,Hilde M Gomez and his
daughter,Virginia Gomez and his parents,Fred
G & Guadalupe A Gomez all of 4647 Bowman
Blvd,Los Angeles,CA and his 2 brothers and 2
sisters (names unknown).
