A 52 year menory

June 20, 1969 I remember "Doc" Goetzer and how he died. The explosion that took his life, way to early, also got a piece of me and I was on the medivac the next morning. I learned about Joe later that day. He was just recently assigned to Echo Company 2/5. I never met a medic over there that I wouldn't trust with my life. An extraordinary bunch of soldiers. I've remembered Joe for 52 years and will continue to do so. May God bless his family.

We love you, Uncle Joey

Uncle Joey,

We miss you and love you. Your name is spoken now more than ever since the arrival of my oldest baby boy in 2017. I named him after you. He has your blue eyes. He has your strength and determination too. Mom and I were speaking about you, as we often do. We love you and miss you. Tell Grandma, Aunt Patty and Uncle Dougie we love and miss them as well.
