YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!

Dearest Staff Sergeant Gibson ~ You Are Not Forgotten!
Today, on the anniversary of your passing, I ran a mile with you in my thoughts and prayers. Several years ago, I had the honor to visit you at your grave site. Rest in Peace, dear brother.
Each year since September 2015, at the annual 5th Division Army reunion, members of the Society of the Fifth Division, U.S Army remember the 514 soldiers from the 1st Brigade, 5th Division, who were Killed in Action in Vietnam. You are among the soldiers remembered. You Are Not Forgotten!

Sgt/Gibson:
I was standing right behind you as you entered the chopper to depart on our mission. The crew chief stopped me and said "take the next chopper" I said there's room now..he said take the next one. You chopper landed on a different part of the hill then the one the rest of the platoon took, and before we were able to meet up, you got hit. The next night a chaplain came out and we held a service on a hill for you. The platoon was never the same after you left. I think of you all the time. You were a great Sgt. we missed you and you leadership.
