Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrances from your friend Jim Barry are moving and harken back to a time long ago when you had your whole life ahead of you. Sadly, that time ended much too soon. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us….

Specialist Four Charles J. Gibilterra Jr., Served with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 46th Infantry Regiment, 198th Infantry Brigade, Americal Division, United States Army Vietnam.

50 years ago... I met Chickie in Vietnam, even though we grew up 4 blocks away from each other. I was back home when he died and was honored when his parents asked me to be a pallbearer at his funeral. He is buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly, NJ. I visit his name on the Wall whenever I'm in DC. He is remembered.

It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I was 20 when you lost your life I am now 66 miss you more today then yesterday the pain and hurt never goes away think of you everyday you were a best friend but also my brother ????
