50 years ago... I met Chickie in Vietnam, even though we grew up 4 blocks away from each other. I was back home when he died and was honored when his parents asked me to be a pallbearer at his funeral. He is buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly, NJ. I visit his name on the Wall whenever I'm in DC. He is remembered.

Thank You
Dear Sp4 Charles Gibilterra,
Thank you for your service as a Food Service Specialist. Happy Advent. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

My Good Friend Chickie
Hi Chick,
I have a rubbing of your name from the DC wall over my desk along with several other friends and acquaintances who didn't make it back. I think about you often and reflect back on the days when we used to hang out at Horn & Hardart's after school checking out all the female talent that went by. Ahhh, life was much simpler back then! Hopefully, we will meet again someday and rekindle our old friendship and share our experiences. Monday is Veteran's day and there isn't a Vets Day that goes by when I don't think of you and whisper a silent hello, hoping you can hear me. Rest in Peace my friend.
Jim Barry
