I served with Tom

Buy hand privilege and honor of serving with tom gettelfinger We were with the 1st of the 502nd infantry Division. We were with the hundred and 1st airborne divisions. He was the team leader of team 3 and I was the team leader of team 1. He was a great guy and An excellent leader and also a hero. I will never forget that day April 15, 1971We were on a adjacent missions And My RTO. They were at the end of their mission and we're waiting on and LZ to be picked up By the chopper's. We were on and adjacent Hill And could Here On the radio. Their team RTO said they were under attack. 47 years after I came back through Vietnam I was invited to a reunion at Tom's younger brothers Steve`s place in Indiana. It was then I felt even more Sad About tom's Passing Seeing what a wonderful family he came from. RIP brother. Jerry case (719) 649-4487

I was just a kid.

I met you once before you deployed, I was 12 years old. Your mother worked in the lunchroom at my school. Your sacrifice brought the reality of the war home to me. I saw how your kind mother was devastated by your loss. May God richly Bless the families of all of those who were lost. Thank you for your service and sacrifice, Sir.
