Oldly Familiar
This man looks very similar to my brother. I just came upon Honorwater.org, as I was searching Louisiana for my grandfather, I found the first evidence of the story he told growing up, 'how they were swarmed by 10,000 and only 3 survived by jumping from the ledge'. The battle of choice resiviour. Strangest thing my grandfathers name is no where on the board. Just bits and pieces from others make his alais is all I could gather atm.

REMEMBERING A FRIEND
James Wayne's Bro-In-Law just passed and I attended services. I spoke to his nephews about him and his family in Italy. They knew little about his family, but if any of them or his military friends read this, please know let me know. James Wayne and I grew up together. We hunted & fished and played sports, did all the things young boys do. He was very outgoing, personality plus, and very smart. His was not an ordinary childhood, his mother died in an accident, when he was a baby. He was raised by his sister, who lived in Mer Rouge, Louisiana. He would spend summers at another sister who lived near me. I followed his military career, until his plane was shot down and have always expected that some day I would hear about him being found alive. He was the kind of guy who could do it. Even now I would not be totally surprised to learn he survived. Would love to talk to any family or friends and trade "Gabby" stories. I am 85 yrs. old, 6 mo. younger James Wayne and I just discovered this forum.

Dear LTC James Gates,
Thank you for your service as a Fixed Wing Aviation Unit Commander (Pilot.) I did the research on your 41st anniversary. Sad. You are still are still MIA. PLEASE COME HOME. Happy Thanksgiving. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. BE AT PEACE.
