A HERO

For Ev Foster.. a family friend, remembered as a strong handsome man. Always as a warm, kind loving and caring father to his children and a loving husband to his wife Ruth. A hero to us all. I was just a teenager when you were killed and I have never forgotten that telegram.

If I should die...remembrances for LTCOL. Everett Edward FOSTER, USAF...a fine hero who gave his all

If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.
