THE WALL OF FACES

David was my neighbor. I was a little girl and our family had just moved in the neighborhood the year before. I remember, even though I was just 7. I never knew him, but always look for his name on any of the memorials and pray for him and his family. He is not forgotten.

I never met David Finger, merely learned about him during a school project about the Vietnam War Memorial. We have several things in common, like last name, and my father's family is from Medina, NY, which is near Eden. I just want him to know that his sacrifice for our nation has not been overlooked.

A college student of the late 60's. it took touching your name on the wall in 2006 to make me face the reality of true sacrifice. I spent summer, '67 hanging out with your baseball farm team,seeing your leadership skills and talent. I know that you continued to lead until the end. Thanks for enriching our lives.

David is buried at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery in Hamburg,NY. SS BSM PH

David, I think of you often, remembering what a good person you are. Your valor, courage, and bravery will always be with me. You, my fallen friend are what our country is founded on, and I salute you. Rest, my friend, in peace.
