Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL David Harold Finger, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Never forgotten

David was my neighbor. I was a little girl and our family had just moved in the neighborhood the year before. I remember, even though I was just 7. I never knew him, but always look for his name on any of the memorials and pray for him and his family. He is not forgotten.

The Face of David Finger

I never met David Finger, merely learned about him during a school project about the Vietnam War Memorial. We have several things in common, like last name, and my father's family is from Medina, NY, which is near Eden. I just want him to know that his sacrifice for our nation has not been overlooked.

Just Like You

A college student of the late 60's. it took touching your name on the wall in 2006 to make me face the reality of true sacrifice. I spent summer, '67 hanging out with your baseball farm team, seeing your leadership skills and talent. I know that you continued to lead until the end. Thanks for enriching our lives.
