Friend
Larry and I attended St. Anthony's High School together where we played basketball on the school team.I perfer to call him "Red". We both entered the Army about the same time. I last saw him in September 1968 at Ft.Gordon Ga.He had just been promoted to Sgt. and I was graduating from MP School. We went out that night in September and said our goodbyes and wished each other good luck and promised to hook up when we got home.
Well I went home in June of 1969 to get married. "Red" returned shortly after the wedding. I couldn't believe he had been killed. He was a great guy and a good friend.I think of him often. He always Gave 150% in everything he did. That's the way he approached his duty in the Army.

Proud family member
I am the daughter of Larry's cousin Jim. I wasn't even born when he died. I am very proud and thankful for his sacrifice. I wish I could have known him, but am proud of his legacy.

A Great Guy!
I was a school friend of Larry's sister, Nancy. I always loved visiting their home and if Larry was home it was an added bonus! He was so handsome and treated Nancy's friends much nicer than any of the other older brothers of our friends. I think all of Nancy's friends had a crush on him! The Fanella family opened their homes and hearts to all of us and treated us all like family. I think of Larry and continue to keep him and his family in my prayers.
