THE WALL OF FACES

I was with David in Basic Training (next bunk), in Advanced Infantry Training and in NCO school. David was a relatively low key humorous guy with a truly good soul. I was about to be helicoptered into Cambodia when I heard of his death. It was the only time in my year in Vietnam that I shed a tear. When in Washington I visit the wall and look up David's name. I regret not having written his family to let them know what a great guy David was and how much I appreciated his companionship in that first 6 months in Army training.

Dear SSGT David John Falk, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

David is buried at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, MI.

David, am stopping back to leave a musical tribute to you and all of your fallen comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice.
