Remembering An American Hero
Dear PVT Stephen Dale Facchini, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

My Brother Steve
Steve was my older brother. I was 12 when he was killed. He is layed to rest in Riverside next to my father. I was pretty young but I do remember after that day it changed my family's whole life. I think my dad aged 10 years over night. My mother was so bitter about the whole war over there my family hardly discussed it. Steve was very young like so many others & looking back I believe he was encouraged to go to Canada but he would not, instead he gave his life for our country which I am very proud of. Thank all the Veterans that served over there, they were treated so badly when they came back I am embarrassed for the people that acted like that. Thank you Steve Facchini wish we could have had more time together. Your little sister, Amy

Elementary School
Steve,
I recently came across some old class pictures of us at Fremont School. Must have been about the 4th or 5th grade. We knew each other a lot of years. Who knew what would lay ahead. Your good friend Lynn Dance was killed too. Thanks to you both, Doug

Boot camp together
We were in Platoon 3052 together.I didn't realize he was K.I.A. because my boot camp book and this site have his last name spelled differently. Rest in peace Marine. You are not forgotten. Semper Fi.
