Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am heartened you returned home after the passage of so many years though I wish it had been under very different circumstances. May you rest in eternal peace.

Not Forgotten
Just visited the Vietnam wall in Murfreesboro,TN and saw all the boys from Cody. I have many family members there some of which also served. Cody was my second home growing up. You will always be remembered. Matthew 5:9

I KNEW HIM
JERRY WAS AN INSTRUCTOR AT VANCE AFB, ENID OK, WHEN I GOT TO KNOW HIM THRU ONE OF OUR WEATHER MAINTENANCE MEN. DICK TAUFER WAS A MORMON AS WAS JERRY. I GOT INVITED TO FAMILY HOME EVENINGS WITH JERRY AND HIS FAMILY. I LEFT FOR VIET NAM IN AUGUST, 1967. TOOK MY R&R SHORTLY AFTER THE TET OFFENCE OF '68. ON MY WAY BACK TO MY HOME BASE I STOPPED BY THE BX AND RAN INTO ONE OF OUR MAINTENANCE GUYS FROM VANCE. HE TOLD ME ABOUT JERRY BEING SHOT DOWN. IT TOOK WAY TOO LONG TO RECOVER HIS REMAINS. FOR NEARLY 20 YEARS I HAVE BEEN THE COORDINATOR OF A POW-MIA CEREMONY ON THE THIRD FRIDAY IN SEPTEMBER. JERRY IS NOT THE MAIN REASON I DO THIS BUT HE IS AN IMPORTANT REASON.
