Life Friend

Donald and I were engaged when he left for Viet Nam. He wanted to be of service to wounded soldiers in the field. In order to do that he had to get special training by the USMC. He achieved that status. His letters let me know how proud he was. I prayed earnestly that he would return home. I received a letter a few days after the news of his death. It contained a money order because he had a "feeling I would need it". He was a tender and loving young man. I have carried him in my heart all these years.
