Remembering, never forgetting

I was in flight training with Steve and stationed with VMFA 323 at Chu Lai. I remember that March nite out in front of our hooches talking to Steve and another guy getting ready to go on a mission. I heard they crashed, MIA 73-75 I was MIA coordinator for MCAS El Toro, but never met his wife although I did meet other MIA wives. RIP

Memorial Day 2017

You are not forgotten and you still live on. Lost my first bracelet in the ocean and received a new one this week. I promise to always remember you and your sacrifice to keep me and my family free. Also to keep it on my arm forever. Thanks from the son of a Vietnam Marine Vet.

You will never be forgotten

About 30 years ago my two children and I got 3 dog tags for soldiers that were MIA's. We faithfully used them, but as the years passed somehow they were miss placed, but your name was always remembered. Steven thank you for the ultimate gift you have given to me and my children. May God Bless you and your family. You will be remembered always. A Mass will be said for you in your honor Sir at my church..

Rest in Peace

Rest in Peace and thank you for your service so long ago

I lost my husband last year and have finally gotten the courage to start cleaning things out. I came across a box that I have since I was in high school that I had not seen in many years. Inside was a metal bracelet that I had purchased when I think I was a junior (1968) that I wore for many many years. I believe the day they announced that the last Marine was being sent home from Vietnam I was able to take the bracelet off. It is strange that I should once again come across it on Veterans Day 2016. It has your name on it as 1st Lt Steven Armitstead 3/17/69. I often wondered if you had made it home, and prayed that you had. I see now that you are listed on the "wall". I have seen the wall twice. but did not find your name. I thank you for your service and am very sad that I could not tell you to your face. God bless and keep you forever in his heart.
