THE WALL OF FACES

My dad was a different Thomas Edward Devine. He served two tours, starting in 68. We went to the wall as a family right after it was constructed, and he found you. For a long time, he stood with his fingers on your name, then he went to the book to learn more. He cried, but he never said a word. I know my dad, so I know he was wondering why he got to have a long life and watch his kids grow up. I know he was mourning everything you should have seen and done. I know he was thinking about where he was when you moved on to heaven. Knowing my dad, he carried you with him every day for the rest of his life.
You hold a place in our hearts.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from your friend Jack Pulliam is poignant. As long as you are remembered you will remain in our hearts forever…..

We can never truly repay the debt we owe our fallen heroes.

Gone, but forever loved. You are missed and the pain in our hearts will never go away. You will never be forgotten, because you will remain in our hearts.... until we meet again! Love always!

Thank you for your service as a Huey, UH-1 Helicopter Repairer. Beacon is just a few miles from here. It is so sad. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
