Remembering Tom
I started going to Beacon High School in the 1964-65 schoolyear. this is where I met Tommy. I remember him as a tough, scrappy Beacon kid who was one of the nicest kids I met in high school. Whenever he seen you he would always know you by name and carry on a conversation with you. Unfortunately I was only acquainted with Tom for a couple of years before he went into the army and I went into the navy. When I found out Tommy had lost his life in Viet Nam I couldn't believe it. I remember thinking to myself, why Tommy? I still to this day wonder what Tommy would have been like and what he would have been doing had he not lost his life in Viet Nam. I wish we could have both finished our tours, returned home and gotten to know each other better in the following years. But that wasn't to be, for Tommy had answered his country's call to fight for us, and he did so, paying the ultimate sacrifice. We in Beacon,N.Y. and the country should never forget this or Tommy. I'm proud of you and I miss you Tom! I could not make Tom's service's because I was serving at the time also, but I would like to send my sincerest sympathy to his sister Cheryl and any member of his family who may read this. Also if you knew or served with Tommy please feel free to drop me a line. I would really like to hear from you.....Mike Losee, Beacon, N.Y. [email protected]
