THE WALL OF FACES

She and I searched for sometime before she found your name. She folded a piece of paper and held it to the wall under your name. I took a picture of that moment. The photograph is long gone now. I'll have that picture in my mind for as long as I live. I served in the Navy during that war and was aboard the USS Blue Ridge during the evacuation of Saigon.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from Patty Donnelly Sellers is moving and reflects the anguish experienced by so many who loved ones in this war. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us.

Dear Lcpl James Daniels,
Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Yesterday was your 72nd birthday. Happy Birthday. Today is National Vietnam Veterans' Day. Easter is coming up. Happy Easter. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I have wonderful memories of this wonderful man. We dated from 1964 thru the time of his death. He played in a band, worked full time and was a loving, caring, proud person. He was very talented. He was a very proud person and I loved so much about him. I moved to San Francisco at 17 and out of training Michael was transferred to the Precedio of Monerey to learn Vietnam language. We were together every week-end there and were so very close. I loved him with all my heart and, still today, think of him often. I am sure I will see him soon.....
