50 years gone

50 years ago you gave your life in service to our country. 50 years ago my grandparents lost their only son; my mother lost her only brother. 50 years ago I was little girl who couldn't grasp the depth of the pain they were feeling. Now I understand and I cannot fathom living 50 years without my son or a brother. Uncle Bob, you are loved and missed each day. Mom takes such good care of Granny, who is 98 years old and finally slowing down a bit. Mom made a tabletop memorial for you that included flowers, a wooden engraved box presented to Granny in 2016, a statue of Jesus hugging a soldier and your Army picture. Robert W Cupp Remembred

Robert was the best friend of one of my best friends. He and I were both in the Americal Division and served in the same area of operation. We were both from the same hometown and attended high school about 5 miles apart. Bob was killed about a month after I left Viet-Nam. His name is on the back of my remembrance vest.

Angels work on earth as in heaven. Bob and I were best friends and keeping his memory for his sacrifice has been a mission I cherish. Thank you Lucy Micik [email protected]. Vigilance is a duty and honor to keep. Just saw this 64 Ford Galaxy at the Good Guys Car Show at The Texas Motorspeedway and thought of Bob's Black Galaxy and how we ran the roads like Kings.
