Louis Cunningham- Gone but Not Forgotten

Louis was my cousin. I remember the day clearly when we heard he was killed in Vietnam. He was the first from SD to be killed. I was only 12. We came from a large family and we were all greatly saddened. It left a great impact on me, especially hearing on the radio the number of deaths each dat following.

Thank You

Dear PFC Louis Cunningham,
Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Pioneer with the 1st Cavalry. You passed on my husband's birthday. Later, my mom passed on this day. Say hi to them in heaven, they are Michael and Rose. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
