USMC Brothers

I remember Peter and Paul from sagging in California. I think we became almost friend. We did some travel around San Diego and then traveled to South East Asia. I have pictures of us in Da Nang but that's where we parted. It has been approximately 48 years that I have been searching for Paul. I received one letter from Peter THEN the very sad news. We were hardly in country just over a month. I was and still am deeply sadden. It is my fondest wish to contact Paul if at all possible. My name is Art Caldwell from Connecticut. I now live in Madison CT and my phone is: 203-421-4313. My Email is [email protected]
If anyone has any information I would appreciate it very much...

I hardly got to know you..

To the Cook Family,
My name is Art Caldwell and I served with Peter and Paul in the Marine Corp. We met while staging for oversea's duty in California. We went through the training and spent a lot of time together but for the brief period we had. We parted in DaNang and I heard the very sad news about a month later. I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to make any contact with Peter's family. And I am extending my deepest sympathies to the Cook Family and Paul for their loss. I would love to be able to make contact with Paul or any member of the Cook Family to further express my feelings. I am sorry to bring up such a sad memory but I have photo's and very happy memories and tales that I wish to share with you.. Art

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Peter Everett Cook, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
