Vietnam Veterans Memorial (VVM) name rubbing for U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Claude Arnold Silva. A note handwritten upon the obverse surface of the name rubbing reads, "For the family of Claude A Silvia [sic] / Thanks for letting them fight for our country & I'm sorry for your loss." The artifact was left at The Wall by an anonymous donor between March - May 2007.
VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL (VVM) NAME RUBBING FOR U.S. AIR FORCE LIEUTENANT COLONEL (LT COL) CLAUDE ARNOLD SILVA. THE OBJECT CONSISTS OF A RUBBED IMPRESSION OF THE VVM WALL HONOREE NAME, "CLAUDE A SILVA" EXECUTED IN GRAPHITE PENCIL AND BLOCK SCRIPT UPON THE CENTER OF THE OBVERSE OBJECT SURFACE OF A ROUGHLY TORN, RECTANGULARLY SHAPED SEGMENT OF WHITE, LINED, THREE (3) HOLE-PUNCHED NOTEBOOK PAPER. A NOTE HANDWRITTEN IN GRAPHITE PENCIL AND BLOCK SCRIPT BELOW THE RUBBED VVM NAME IMPRESSION AT THE OBVERSE OBJECT SURFACE READS, "FOR THE FAMILY OF CLAUDE A SILVIA [sic] / THANKS FOR LETING [sic] THEM FIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY & I'M SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS."
