Dear Sp4 Ronald Colson,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Today starts 2018, Happy New Year, and it is the 8th Day of Christmas. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

This week was Vietnam Veterans Day. How sad to think the only way I can thank you is to write you a note on this Memorial page. I remember what a sweet and cute boy you were. I was enjoying my life at Murray State and you were in Vietnam fighting and dying for our freedom. Freedom is Not Free and you and your family have paid the ultimate sacrifice for that freedom. You will not ever be forgotten by your classmates.

We were Murray High School classmates 50 years ago. Though much time has passed, memories of a nice young man named Ronnie Colson remain. Thank you for your bravery, for your service, and for your sacrifice.

At the recent MHS Class of '65's 50th reunion you were remembered and gratefully honored. But you have been remembered many times previously and will be remembered and thanked many times again.

I have been to the wall in D.C. twice. Each time I've looked at your name there and have been grateful for you and your service.

The Murray High School Class of '65 held their 50 year reunion in 2015. Ronnie Colson's photo was displayed. The Master of Ceremonies paid tribute to Ronnie's service and sacrifice. To Ronnie's classmates and to his friends from Murray and Calloway County, RONALD S. COLSON truly is "More Than A Name On A Wall". May we always remember and appreciate Ronnie's irrevocable sacrifice.
