not forgotten

Norman or may I call you Snake? I've met some of the men you served with and they still talk about you. It would have been nice to know you, I think. You are missed and you will not be forgotten.

If I should die...remembrances for PFC Norman Edward COLOSANTI, USA...Portland's bravest of heroes!!

If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

Good Soldier

Norman grew up in my neighborhood. He was my mothers newspaperboy. He was a crew member in my tank in the Maine Army National Guard prior to the army. He was a good boy and a good trooper.
