God Bless You my Friend
Arrived in Cam Ranh Bay about same time. Became friends bumming around waiting for assignment. Assigned to Mike Platoon, C Co., 1/28, First Infantry Division. July 6, 1969 our infantry unit was working with an armor unit. Collins was directed to ride on lead tank. It was leading our group and was the first vehicle hit by an RPG. My best Viet Nam Army buddy was killed. It grieves me to remember.

In Eternal Friendship and Gratitude

I regret that we didn't stay in touch as I arrived in 'Nam 4 days before you were KIA. You were the best friend I ever had. Bill
