Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

My mother knew you and you were something special
My mother Lynne talks of you so often and wishes so much you were still here. I hope you are resting in peace and though I never met you, thank you for serving and I will always love you through my mom's memories.

You and my father were friends
and he speaks of you from time to time. I got a rubbing of your name for him when I visited the wall in 2014. He remembers getting the phone call from my grandmother that you had passed. He had gotten home in January 1969. I wasn't born until January 1970 but through stories my dad has told me, I feel like I knew you. RIP Mr. Abney and thank you for your sacrifice for this great nation.
