THE WALL OF FACES

Dear Lt Edward Collins,
Thank you for your service as an Infantry Unit Commander. Today is the last day of 2017, Happy New Year, and it is the 7th Day of Christmas. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

As Christmas approaches we think of you and remember the sacrifice you made for us 49 years ago. Joshua, your great nephew, has shared your picture and medals with several of his classmates. We made sure they know you through our memories of you. Wish you had been able to meet them all . . your nieces and nephews are great young men and women. We love you and miss you every day.

My father still talks about you. You are a hero and I always love to hear about you. I am only 13, but I feel like I know so much about you. Thank you for your services.
