Remembering My Cousin
David was my cousin who I looked up to and respected. He did have a full 18 years of life and saw many places and even hitchhiked across the United States. I remember hearing that one motorist, that picked him up as he was hitchhiking, was so impressed with him that he drove several hundred miles out of his way to get to know David better.
I will never forget the night in March of 1968 when we got a phone call late at night. The next morning my father said, "i am afraid I have some bad news." I said, "David's dead isn't he?" I just knew. I miss him today and am grateful for the opportunity to honor him.
