Thank You
Dear PFC Gary Coleman,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. I read about the Ia Drang Valley, so sad. December is almost gone, along with all the preparations. It is the 4th Day of Christmas. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Your Legacy Lives
My Love, the biggest regret is that we did not have a child to carry you forward in this world. You so loved children and would have been a wonderful dad. But your memory lives on - your brother, John, named his only son after you. That son found me so that he could learn more about the uncle whose name he carries. He shares your love of sports and young athletes.
My own grandchildren met you via The Wall when it traveled to our community. One grandson, Garrett, calls you his hero. He is now a Marine. He visits you in Washington from time to time to pay his respects to a reluctant, but honorable warrior. I still miss you so.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Gary Terrence Coleman, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
