Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP4 Robert Mclain Cochran Jr, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Many ties
I do not know if ever met you, but we have several ties that cause me to remember and honor you. We both were from Sarasota, Florida and you returned there to be buried in the same cemetery as my parents and many friendsrelatives. In the Army we both served as Infantry paratroopers with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, and in the same 3rd battalion at the same time. And I was there on 471969 to help recover the bodies and equipment of the 11 killed when Bravo Lima platoon was overrun by an NVA Battalion. And now I am looking up all our fallen Sky Soldiers from Florida to keep your memory and offer our respect. May you rest in peace now that the battle is over for all of us Viet vets.

Not forgotten
Robert, Although we never met, I just want you to know you are not forgotten. You gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life for what you believed in. Sleep well and thank you.
