Final Mission of SP4 Robert Clokes
At 12:15 PM on December 4, 1968, a M151 jeep from Headquarters Company, 1st Brigade, hit a mine buried under the blacktop surface of Highway QL-14, approximately eight miles southeast of Tan Canh village in Kontum Province, RVN. One of the passengers, SP4 Robert Clokes from the 40th Infantry Platoon Scout Dog, was killed, and three others were wounded. Their vehicle reportedly was destroyed.
