You were one of the brave that answered the call. You honored us by your service and sacrifice. We now honor you each time we stand and sing the words “THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE”. Rest in peace and honor Charles.

I never got to meet Charles,but went to Spring Lake Park schools from kindergarten to graduation and remember hanging with his younger brother,(I believe)or maybe cousin,it's been so long that I just dont remember for sure but his name was Randy,I remember a dedication to Charles in the back of the 1973 school yearbook,wish I still had it,but I just have never forgotten and would like to tell the Clitty family that I am so sorry for you're loss and have all the respect in the world for Charles ,who gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country in a war that I am not totally convinced was needed and dont believe was worth the high price paid.I hope all in the Clitty family are doing well!

Charles, you will never be forgotten. Your memory will live on Bro! You were so young, vibrant, and loved life so much. Drive on ..................

FOREVER REMEMBERED

We Nam Brothers pause to give a backward glance, and post this remembrance to you, one of the gentle heroes lost to the War in Vietnam:

Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul ... and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.
