Happy Birthday Billy
It is so hard to believe that you would be 73 years old now. I still think of you as my friend from so many years ago. I do not know why you took time with me, but it was great climbing into your mustang and heading down to K-Mart on Bankhead or some other place. You were like a big brother to me. I remember the morning we heard you were killed. I remember going to Patterson's and seeing you in the casket. I remember you were in the same room as my grandfather. I remember not sleeping that night and my mom letting us stay out of school to go to your funeral. Even though we were not related, we were family. Your mother taught me how to tie my shoes. So much of my life was wrapped up with you. Of course I guess that happens when you live across the street from each other. Miss you Billy. Wish you were here. I visit your grave often. I know I will see you again.
