I SERVED WITH PVT. AMOS
As Cpl. Knowles, I was the radio operator who called in Medivac for Pvt. Amos and LCpl. Cope when they were hit by enemy fire. Today we are ordering Commentative Bricks in their memory to be placed at the Vietnam Veterans 2nd Bn/1st Marines Monument at the Semper Fidelis Memorial Park, National Museum of the Marine Corps, Quantico, VA. If possible, could someone from Pvt. Amos's family contact me.

Memorial Day
Today (30 May 2022)I attended the Memorial Day Ceremony in Marietta and for some reason something told me to look down. Doing so, my eyes immediately went to your marker Willie Frank Amos, Alabama (though the internet says you are from Fulton County), PFC US Marine Corps Vietnam. You are a month younger than I am but are forever young. Thank you for your sacrifice Marine-RIP!

Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
As long as you are remembered you will never die...
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
As long as you are remembered you will never die...
