Remembering a Fallen Hero

I had the honor of having had a number of meals with SSgt. Ammerman back sometime in the mid-1960s, when he came home on leave with my uncle, Gysgt J.J. Fisher, III. He amazed my mom (the cook) with his voracious appetite. Evidently, he liked Penna. chow! Kind, friendly, salt-of-the-earth guy from what I remember of him. We were devastated when we heard of his death. Oooh-rah, Roscoe! Semper Fi.
