Never Forgotten
My best friend and "bunk mate" in basic training Ft.Polk September 1965. Stong of heart and character, a giant of a man, standing only 5'2". Encouraged me to iprove my life and talked me in to attending OCS. Gil wanted all of us to try to do better, to live life to it's fullest. Gil was always there to help a "straggler" to offer a helping hand. Thanks Gil, a fallen hero never forgotten!

Never Forgotten
He was an Engineer assigned to the rifle company I commanded.Intelligent, gutsy and friendly, he made significant contributions to our company's mission as we engaged in a number of combat operations. In one Iron Triangle firefight he and I literally fought shoulder to shoulder. The troopers of Bravo Company admired, respected and liked him without reservation - even if he wasn't an Infantryman.
Death came to him as he cleared a VC base camp of mines and boobytraps. I mourn his passing to this day - 36 years later. And as long as I live, he'll be remembered.
