A great guy
I was in the same platoon as George. We were in the four deuce mortar platoon. Unfortunately the Asshole Battalion Commander decided he didn't need a mortar platoon but could use an extra recon platoon. Such a waste to lose a great guy for an Asshole's decision. I think of you all the time my comrade in arms.

George was my Dad's best friend
George was my Dad's best friend in Vietnam. Cal Warren was a Sgt. in the same platoon. He was so upset at the decision to go on the path into the ambush that he punched the new officer in charge and lost his stripes temporarily.
If he was a friend of my Dad's, I am sure George was a good man.
