San Diego State University (SDSU) War Memorial Recognition
After researching the circumstances of 1LT Robert Chaudoin's passing in combat, we believe his name should be included on the SDSU War Memorial. We intend to officially add his name at a ceremony in the Fall of 2023. In the meantime, we are searching for any family members that we can invite to be present for this important addition. If you are a family member or can help us contact a family member, please email me at marti[email protected]

High School & San Diego State
I was in the same class at San Marino High School as Conn. After a couple of years at PCC (the Zoo), he and I and anther classmate rented the ugliest apartment you've ever seen in North Park, San Diego. We were roomates until the first part of 1969. Conn got me a job in High School working for Hallmark Cards. His father was West Coast Regional Manager or some such high position. Great job. $2/hour! The last time I saw Conn was during a power outage at Ft. Ord. I was in Basic Training and somehow he found out where I was. I visited his mother after I got out and she had a scrapbook filled with pictures and articles from baby to 24. Heartbreaking. Good guy from a great family. (To the last poster, Ron Lompart - your brother had a serious 409 Chevy!).

High School Friend
I went to San Marino High School with Robert's sister but was on the track & cross country team with him - he was a couple years older. Robert was a great guy, very friendly & helpful. Didn't know how close I was to seeing him at Ft. Ord as I was there in Sept 69 & in Vietnam shortly after his death. Both came as a shock - God Bless you Robert - you are missed & remembered by anyone who knew you.
