do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

It’s been over 50 years now, and you still are not forgotten by me.

I never met you but you and my husband were shipmates HS-2 Constellation,
both AX2 so I’m sure you were friends and both are looking down from heaven wondering what I’m doing. Why I waited so long to talk to you (too hard).
I just want you to know that I am so proud of you and my husband Donald Paul McGrane. Donald and three others were also killed trying to rescue Lt. Hartman. All six of you will not be forgotten. God, please watch over these men for me, Amen
