My Dear Friend
I first met Walt in Brienne-le-Château France. We became very close friends quickly. Our unit moved to Germany and from there Walt and I went to Vietnam. I saw him a couple of times in country but we did not serve together. He was in the 335th Trans and I was in the 339th Trans. RIP my friend, I'll see you on the other side.

Service in Brienne LeChateau France
I served in Brienne LeChateau France with Walter in 1965. We called him Charlie. Larger than life, Walter kept us all laughing and he was the party master of the 582nd Transporattion Company.Every morning Walter put on Dancing in the streets by Martha and the Vandellas full blast. I was stunned to learn of his passing. We all loved him. Well done Walter. Catch you on the other side. A true soldier.
