THANK YOU
Dear PFC Thomas Chatburn,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. It is Veterans' Day weekend. Thank you for your service. This is the month that we remember all those who have passed-on. We remember you. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Thomas W Chatburn III, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

I will always remember Chat as I knew him in Germany prior to both of us going to Nam. He ended up in the lst Inf while I served with both the 9th Inf in the Delta and the 4th Inf at Pleiku. Tom and I spent a lot of our time up on the Border at Hof, Germany pulling border patrol and on our time off in the evening we partied with many of the beautiful women of Germany. Maybe we drank a tad too much but we had a blast doing it.Chat was truly a wonderful human being. We operated the arms room when we were in garrison but that is another story I may share some day.Years ago my wife and I drove out to Merrill to the cemetary only to find out later that Tom is buried in Klamath Memorial. I did talk to the funeral director in Merrill and he said that he went to school with Chat.
Rest in peace brother and I will always think of you
Your bud,
Congac man.
