do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Pittsburgh Buddy

Just saw (Feb 17, 2020) we lost Mike in Vietnam. We traveled together from Pittsburgh to Parris Island. I seem to remember he like me he had Parris Island as our first Duty Station. I believe he was in data processing and me to the Parris Island Drum & Bugle School. He is not forgotten by his fellow Marines.

Gone but not forgotten

Michael, I was in disbelief when I received word of your passing as were your other Marine brothers. Always enjoyed our conversations and poker games. You were a “short timer” and should have gone home to a new phase in your life. Semper Fi Marine.
