BEST FRIENDS

All these years of remembering all the things we did together. Why didn't you ask me to go with you? I enlisted a couple of months before you left us. I am still so angry at you. Maybe I might have been there for you. We never got to tell stories of where we went, what we did, how many whatevers. We never got to share a beer together. I miss you buddy and I guess I always will. Rest in Peace my friend. We will meet again.

do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

As long as you are remembered you will never truly die.
