CPL Jose F. Acosta was a rifleman assigned to F Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, and CPL Quinnen T. Chandler Jr. was a Combat Engineer with A Company, 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division. On October 1, 1967, both Marines were traveling in a military vehicle as part of a convoy returning to basecamp when the vehicle overturned two miles southwest of An Hoa Airfield in Quang Nam Province, RVN. Dear Cpl Quinnen Chandler,
Thank you for your service as a Combat Engineer. This is the month that we remember all those who have passed-on. We remember you. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I wanted to say Happy Birthday also, even though it's still another four months away. I share the same birthday as you and I wanted to wish you Happy Birthday. Thank you again for everything.
