To a Hero of all Heros
I wear your bracelet with honor and pride and pray that you will someday find your way home to enjoy the freedom that you fought so bravely to bestow upon this nation. War is ugly and selfish. Too many of our brothers and sisters have given the greatest sacrifice of their lives for not only our freedom but for the peace and freedom of many foreign countries. Yet peace and freedom have eluded this world and will continue to do so until we learn the real meaning of freedom. God Bless You. May your family soon be blessed with your return home.
Godspeed.
Godspeed.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear LTC Harold Joseph Alwan, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Forever In Our Hearts
I recently went to D.C and visited the Vietnam Memorial and felt inspired to choose a veteran to honor. I chose Ltc. Alwan to remember and now wear a bracelet that bears his name, I share his story as much as possible and plan on remembering his name for the rest of my life.
