Dearest Hubby,
Never to be forgotten, always in my heart. That you were so WRONG! That night when you were in Navigator/Bombardier training for the B-47, 1st Lt, at Mather AFB, and gently explained that I was "a sweet young thing," but must realize I was "infatuated" with you and should date other officers (I never did!). Now you see how right you were that in all this time nothing has changed to this day, our happiness together is the legacy you provided me and still fills my heart.
So little time it seems, since our Marriage at Thanksgiving of 1959, Nuptial Mass, celebrated by three priests on the altar, The Papal Blessing, an elegant wedding reception at which our family and friends shared our great happiness.
You are always in the present, the center of loving memories always, dear Mo. Your sons have never forgotten you, and you would be so proud of them, both successful, both so proud of their families, fawning fathers, children who grew to be their pride and joy; your grand children having long come to know you: five grand daughters, one grandson, all wonderful young people with achievements of which you would be so proud; full college scholarships; one grand daughter a recent graduate of Jefferson Law School, one of the top seven in the US, she in the top 6% of her class learned she passed the CA State Bar Exam on the first attempt at Thanksgiving 2014, now a fully certified Attorney in San Diego!
Me? Always missing you, thinking of you with so much love. I thanked Charlie Archy for posting his remembrances of you, thinking of the good times we shared on those assignments; someone else knew your birthday and sent those wishes; everyone admired you so much, sweet heart. You were taken from us too soon, missing the joys of sharing developing years of your sons to whom you were so devoted, their marriages, those children; they remember you still and love you very much. It has become March 20, 2015.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear Major Moses Lopes Alves, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
