Leroy Worked for My Dad in Havre (Home Town)
I can still remember his quiet focused attitude and his kindness to me as a young kid (I was born in the mid-fifties). We had lots of nice chats while we worked together. It was a shock to us when we heard the news of his passing. His letters to my dad (a WW2 combat vet - Okinawa) were always interesting. One thing that stood out without question was his patriotism and his undying love of country. I think of you often and will always remember you.

Remembering Always
We were in Cambodia when Leroy Cech was Kia. We were friends and Comrads side by side nearly every day! Leroy didn’t smoke, and, I did so when C rations were passed out, he gave his 4 pack of SP Marlboro’s to me! The Red Devils (pallmalls) he would keep and burn red ants with! You were older, and quieter and I never remember you out of line like the rest of us! RIP Brother

To my brother in arms.
Leroy was my friend and brother in arms. We fought together, and I share many good memories of his friendship. He was a gentle soul. I was with him the day he gave his life for his country and for his friends. God rest your soul Leroy, your friend, Juan Díaz.
