50 years have passed
My brother Raul, "Junior", it has been 50 years now since you were killed in action leading your men that late afternoon attempting to ease the enemy pressure on another infantry company. Not a day has passed that I have not thought of you. I keep the photo of you and I on my wall, the last photo of us together. I'm now 3 months short of 70 years on this earth. Yet, the memories of us together and when you came home in the metal box are as fresh as yesterday. There was no parade, no welcome committee, just your three younger brothers watching as your remains were unloaded off the airplane.
Forever, Eternal brotherly love. Your brother. Gilbert. Vietnam Combat Veteran.
