Thank You

Thank you all for leaving a remembrance to SP4 Alvarado. I am his niece Donna. Leonard was a kind hearted man. What many do not know is 2 weeks before he was to come home he asked to return to the frontline. He had written to his sister Violet that he could not live if his men were killed because he wasn't there. Shortly after he wrote to his sister Esther and told her "pray for me sister for I am afraid I will not be coming home". One week before his discharge his mother received the message he was killed in action. She never got over losing him but we all knew it was something he had to do. He gave his life for his brothers and that's the man he was. One of the men that was in the company they were called to assist told me that half the men were dead and the other half severely wounded. I am sorry for your lose. Thank you for your remembrances. His legend will live on.
