do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

John Michael Casey
I served with Lt. Casey in An Khe in 1967. I was also with the 144th RR as a pilot and John had a bunk just down the hall. He was someone You just don't forget. He was hard charger and a strong leader. I have been to the Wall once and too painful to return. I think of Lt. Casey often and regret His loss for the Family.

Thanks
I recently visited the wall to pay my respects to Cpt. Casey with my family. As I offered my sincere gratitude for his service and ultimate sscrafice. As the story goes my father (Cpt. David Dacey) 1st Cav was relieved of his duties by Cpt Casey. I reflect on the fact that my father could have been in that tent and met a different fate. Thank You from a Grateful son born in 1970
