do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Family x

I have heard stories of my uncle Zane from my mum growing up. Immensely proud. Would’ve loved to have met him. My mum has many photos of my Aunty June, Tigey and Teresa x

Uncle

my dear uncle Zane.
I wasn't even born when you were so tragically killed.
My mother is Glenda, Junes sister - your wife - and she wanted me to post this in her and my name to honour your ultimate sacrifice. RIP uncle, gone but not forgotten. Jamie xx

THANK YOU

Dear Tsgt Zane Carter,
Thank you for your service. I did not see your MOS, only that you were a Fixed Wing Crewman. It is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Final Mission of TSGT Zane A. Carter

This dramatic UPI photograph of a USAF de Havilland Canada C-7B Caribou (#62-4161, c/n 99, 'KE' tailcode) going down shows the moment shortly after the cargo plane was hit by friendly fire from a 155mm howitzer as it approached a Special Forces camp near Duc Poh, South Vietnam in 1967. Three members of the crew, pilot CAPT Alan E. Hendrickson, co-pilot CAPT John D. Wiley, and loadmaster TSGT Zane A. Carter, died in the incident, which led to a tightening-up of co-ordination between the Air Force and the Army for flights in artillery zones. The photo of plunging aircraft taken by Japanese combat photographer Hiromichi Mine, who was himself killed on March 5, 1968, from injuries suffered from a landmine. [Taken from wikipedia.org]
